Monday 9:30 - 11:00am Bikrams Cambie - Tanya

This was my first time at the new Cambie studio. It is beautiful!! It is on the lower floor of the City Square mall. There is free parking. The change room has many bench, cubby, hook areas - so much so that I almost had one all to myself! There are hair dryers! (Not that I am going to stick around and shower and primp - run home and do it at home - but nice if I were to go on the way to going to school or something else.)

The studio has speakers and the teacher wears a mic so I could hear really well.

Tanya is just as awesome - if not more awesome. She told a story during svasana about getting her picture taken during standing separate leg head to knee pose. She sent the picture to one of the winners of the past yoga competitions and learned to keep it simple. If she had just opened her legs a bit wider she could have gotten her head to her knee. I learned that in Bikrams Bali last summer. I think that is what she was saying. That is what I heard anyways. I missed her stories.

I didn't do as awesome as I would have wanted to do seeing Tanya for the first time but I kept on trucking. I did have to take some breaks. I was hot and getting dizzy. I did all that I could. I am looking forward to going back on Wednesday before Chronic Taco with Sam's fam.

I thought about Carrie and I doing yoga in this studio.

AND... did I see Shirley's Lisa in class???

Friday 6.46 Km 34:08 Mins

I am back in action! I veggied out, slept, ate, drank... and did no exercise since last Friday. It really wore me out and made me appreciate my normal life. Jonny and I have decided to do a 9 week healthy binge so we really killed our monkeys this last week.

Today's run was nice. I didn't worry about how long I ran - I just saw a sunny break in the day and ran as long as I wanted - which turned out to be 6.46Km. I ran right to the new Cactus Club and back. I didn't do any walks but I didn't force myself to run faster than I wanted. I just ran a consistent pace. Well, I kinda got slower on the way back because the wind was pushing me.

I have been having second thoughts about running the half marathon. I do not want to have such a strict schedule right now in my life and I don't want to just run. I want to dance and yoga too. I may still do it ... but for now... I think I will just run when I want and dance and yoga too.

Thursday 3km Steady 15:21 Mins.

I didn't run that steady. I ran about the same speed as yesterday. I got home and changed from my hoody and sneakers into my running jacket, runners, and hat and left. I ran the same route as yesterday and it was about the same weather as yesterday - clear, cold and sunny. When I got home Jonny told me to hurry because dinner was ready. And now we are chilling! There is nothing like running - not having to wait for a class to start or to have to go to any specific place.

Anywho - I am looking forward to the break Friday and the long run Sunday!!

Wednesday 3km Tempo 15:10 Mins

I didn't want to run. I waited all day for the sun and then I didn't feel like going. It is so short and so fast .. I am glad I went. I think tomorrow I will feel better when everything is back to normal - back to school! (for two days and then spring break and I can do whatever I want whenever I want... as long as it is kinda free!!)

The Internet died!! So.. I end here.

Tuesday 2:15 Bikrams Kits - Julia R.

I didn't want to go to this class but I went. I had a feeling I was going to struggle. It was super hot as soon as I walked in. I missed the first right triangle. During the spine strengthening I skipped a few postures. I was so hot and my heart was beating really fast. My face was ... and still is beat red and I was super sweaty. Gross. I couldn't wait to get out of the class.

I got one correction in the akward - to not be on my toes so high - but that is just because that ankle doesn't bend. I am still working on it though.. maybe one day it will bend.

I know the next class will be better.

Tuesday 4 Km Tempo 19:58 Mins.

I got up and ran right away today. I was sleepy and seeing cute Jonny all sleepy made me want to curl back up and stay in bed but I fought the urge and left the house. I ran down the alley to the C wall and I ran right to just before the Christmas tree at the edge of English Bay. I turned back around and ran back along the C wall until the sunny bench spot on the gravel where you can catch the little ferry. I walked back through the park and home.

It was sunny but cold. The little puddles were full of ice. My hands and legs were itchy after a warm shower. I enjoyed the sun and the run though.

I was thinking about my running pants - they are too tight and I am blubbering over them - but my jacket covers them. At what point do you say... it would be better to get new ones and feel better about yourself... then to feel like a blubbery old person. Can I make it to short season? I am pretty sure they still fit me. OR.. can I fight this and win? Will I get back in shape quickly??? I guess if it took a year and a half to put it on it will take at least that or more to take it off. Hmmm... I am not going to think about it anymore today. (ya.. right!) Time to go eat!

Monday 7 Km LSD 38:08 Mins. - Azelia

I missed Saturday's 3 km. I might add it in this week sometime. I also missed Sunday's run. I got it done today though. Azelia and I drove to Stanley Park and parked near Barclay street. We ran by the lagoon then up Rawlings and Tatlow... I think. We ended up back by the lagoon at the halfway mark and we turned around and ran the same way back. It was super nice in the park - the trees stopped the wind. It was sunny but cold. Azelia was having trouble with her knee - I hope she doesn't hut herself more by running with me!
