Friday 6 - 7:30am Bikram Cambie - Roxana

Roxana is such an awesome teacher. She gives so much information out during her classes. I don't hear everything but I try to focus on her voice. There were fire alarm announcements during the class and she just raised her voice up over it so I was able to still focus on her voice instead of the fire alarm intrusion.

It was the perfect temperature. It wasn't too hot that I couldn't do anything but it was still hot enough to be a breathing challenge at some parts.

My right hip is still hurting. I laid down during triangle and poked at it a bit. I have given up getting into  a therapist after all the phone tag this week. I will just deal with it and try to poke at it myself and I will not go to jazz.. maybe hip hop instead this weekend. It would have been nice to get in somewhere during exam week… but over now… new kids today!

The sun is shining… it is Friday… it is a good day! I can't wait to get home to the boys.

Wednesday 6 - 7:30am Bikram Cambie - Mari

My hips!! ahhhh!! hahaha… I just phones another phsyio - massage place in the area and left a message. I hope they get back to me. I would love to get these babies fixed today.

If you forget about the hips (right especially right now), I had a better class than I did yesterday.

K - I gotta finish these report cards and get my course outlines and stuff ready for Friday. Busay!

Tuesday 6 - 7:30am Bikram Cambie - Mari

I wasn't feeling good last night but got up and went anyways. I didn't do that well but I am glad I went. Tanya was in class - I knew she would be back soon - six weeks after birth! She obviously had her baby the normal way because she had no problem doing the sit ups and balancing. She snuck out before the breathing exercise… I am guessing so she wouldn't have to do all the talking with everyone. She gave me a little wave though. I wish I could have done better in this class.

I called a RMT this morning. Maybe I can get in tomorrow during my lunch break.

Saturday 11:30 - 12:30 Skate

It was so sunny on Saturday it didn't seem like a normal January day. We took advantage of the sun and went for a skate. The boy was so good as we ollied back and forth and around him. The boat show was on. Good day!

I didn't want to leave the bed this morning… but I did.

I didn't do anything that hurt my hip flexor. I need to get it released. I have had this so many times before and I always kick myself for putting it off. Just make an appointment!

Wednesday 6 - 7:15am Bikram Cambie - Mari

It was so hot today. I was dripping during the first breathing exercise. My hair is so long I wipe it to the side with my sweat. Gross.

My left hip is really sore. Jonny says I can't do anymore stuff so I will try to find a physio close to school so I can go during my spare. Hopefully, I can go just once and get this thing released. It feels puffy and throbs. I'm old.

Tuesday 6 - 7:30am Bikram Cambie - Ulrike

I lucked out today. It is my first day back after having a cold and the one thing I worried about was the heat. Fortunately it was not that hot today and I was able to breathe the whole class. My right hip is still hurting and my left one is feeling better. I should go to physio and get them to release the hip flexor… when I get time. I did the right triangle and the left lunge and then rested for both of the second sets. 

I got to stay the whole class because I have a department head release day to work on our dance genre project at the Education Building. I got here at 8:15 - plenty of time. I wish I could do the full class all the time - but I can't risk not making it to school on time.. one little traffic hold up and I wouldn't make it.

Wendesday 6 - 7:15am Bikram Cambie - Onkar

Finally, I got back in the studio. I have been so busy… and it isn't over yet!

When I walked into the studio I started sweating. It was so hot. He must have turned it down when he came into the studio or after the first breathing exercise because it started to feel cooler. I was trying to convince myself of that anyways. It was hotter when I was lower than it was standing. I thought hot air rose?

I missed the left triangle. I missed the last part of the first set of locust pose where you lift up both legs and I missed one floor bow.

I left after spine strengthening.

Onkar was nice this morning. He had good flow. I will no longer avoid classes that he is teaching.

I thought about our dance show and OB. Wanyae should not do the dance where he dislocated his shoulder until OB. I thought about doing a turns and jumps class next week for the girls and the X block. I thought about asking the grade 12's what they would like to do as the second dance in X block as it is their last year. Kim was interested in having a Spanish style - but she is grade 10… we could do that when she is closer to graduating if the grade 12's aren't into that.

Saturday 2 - 3:30 Contemporary Jazz - Moe

Today's class was full! I guess all the dancers are back from holidays. Cierra was at the front desk. She has two years left of nursing school and may be driving to Nova Scotia this summer. That could be a great adventure. I gotta get her to come and babysit one day.

We did the same choreo as we did last week. It was nice to get to dance this one. I still wished I could do better but at least I left feeling better than last week.

Tuesday 6 - 7:05am Bikram Cambie - Ulrike

I had a better class than I did last Thursday. I did miss one set of balancing stick and my triangle to the left. My right hip is hurting now. I blame that darn baby gate for hurting my hip flexor.

There was an accident where I merge onto the highway. What a mess. I made it on time though. Ulrike teaches class well and quick so I was out of there earlier than normal.

Sunday 1-1:30 Skate!

Jon suggested I start recording my skating in my blog. So here is my first skate entry:
It is sunny and cold today but I skated till I was in my t-shirt and sweating. We skated at E spot. I started with my usual ollies over the lines in the cement and then I worked on my 180's. I have to remember to pop my tail and not just will it around. I used the ball of my foot on the tail and that seemed to help more. I rolled away from a couple but really slow because I was going super slow to start… half a push.

Saturday 2 - 3:30 Contemporary Jazz - Moe

I had another fun dance class. I am glad that I chose to dance instead of yoge. Moe had her mom's pedometer on and was counting how many steps we do in a dance class. She is so funny. Moe and Julio did the combo at the end of class and it looked awesome.

It was good to be back to Moe's class. I hope I can get back there more.. but it just seems to take up most of the day and I miss the fun family time. Mornings are a better exercise time for me right now.

Friday 12 - 1:30 Contemporary Jazz - Julio

Smiling and happy - new sweat pants - and fluffy showers. Today was a good day. I think I will dance again tomorrow. I haven't been to Harbour in so long and I am always happy when I go back. I must make time to go back more.

Here are a few things to remember for class:

1. Lay on your back on the floor - relax everything - use only abs to C yourself to the side into fetal and back. Reverse.

2. Abs ATF: Roll down - slide out to plank- drag feet in using abs - roll up - repeat.

3. Abs ATF: Crawling positing knees off the floor - moving on the diagonals to travel forward - right hand and foot - left cross - right and open like frog splattered on a wind shield and look up at hand - repeat starting left. GRUELLING!

Thursday 9:30 - 11am Bikram Cambie - Danny

All I can say - is I have lots of room for improvement this year. That was an awful class for me. I was so hot and dizzy I hardly did any of the standing parts!! I went through all the excuses in my head - but it comes down to a bad class. Sometimes when you have a break and you come back to yoga you think you are going to have a bad class and it is the best class ever - not today. Anywho - my hip didn't hurt and the class is now over and I did the best I could. That is all good stuff.
