Tuesday 2-3 Hot Yoges - Will

Today I am going to Will's class for the first time. I have heard a lot of good things about his class. I wonder if my expectations are too high? I will go in with an open mind. It is my first class back since I have been sick. I can't wait to bend and stretch!! My ankle and arch have been aching!! It will feel awesome to heat it up and bend it all around.

I didn't have time to write about my class experience and I don't feel like thinking about it now. Did I like it? It isn't for me. It was way too learn to love yourself. I want to try too hard and smile doing it but I don't need all the talking.

Friday 6-7am Hot Yoges - Ashley

Ok - I have a lot I want to remember to write down from class this morning. I have finally decided whether or not I like this class and I have decided - finally - that I do not like this class. WHY? We don't do much. We finish ten minutes early to lay on our mats and listen to her talk us through a relaxation which I can't hear. So, I try to make up my own relaxation - but today I was making up a song. I want the double rainbow people to make it. The song would be called, "Steamy Head."

Damn... hahaha.. this video is totally no bummers!! It makes me laugh. HAHAA!!

So, can you imagine them doing a song about a girls steamy head walking from yoga to home through fancy pants Yaletown in the cold with a steaming hot yoga head? hahahahaha!! That is what I thought of during relaxation kindergarten time!

I want to try to remember the class order to see if we even did that much.
We started laying on our mats breathing - holding at the top and bottom of the breath.
We rolled to sitting
We stood up and did some breathing with the hands clasped and straight up the front then down centre through prayer.
We did the side bends
We did awkwards
We did that other seated one with the arms up then bend forward and twist
We hung in between those
We stepped back into lunge and leaned forward then the other side
ahhh.. I am bored of writing this out... I would have to do her class one more time to remember everything. Who knows - she might change it next time I have her. I don't think she teaches next Friday. Or at least I hope she doesn't. I like Leo's style better - I miss Danny and Patricia!!!

Thursday 6-7:30 Hot Yoges- Christine

"Google diwi diwi. Do you wanna diwi diwi?"
From what I can remember this was the the song that was playing when I was laying on my mat before class. It made me smile and try to remember it. I don't think I succeeded too well.

The class was full and hot but I had an a some class. I thought about not letting things bother me in yoga. I am trying to incorporate that into y practice. Getting frustrated with people is not cool and it is something a true yogi wouldn't do. I want to try to just let things go - not only in yoga - but when I'm driving and in life in general. I rolled down my wind and yelled at a woman who cut me off twice in a row- who is the real psycho here? It is ME! I am a psycho! Now that you realize it calm down, relax, and let it go!

I bent the most I ever have in awkward today. I came out of the pose early cause It hurt. I can't push it now. I have come this far - just a little bit more time!!!

Good night! Yoges again at 6am!

Wednesday 6:30-7:30 Hip Hop2 - Alex

He made up a New Jack Swing combo on the spot. It was fun. It wasn't difficult. It was sweaty. I felt like the oldest one in the class besides Alex. I wish I had more friends that danced. Or rather, I wish that my friends would come and dance more often. I always have so much more fun when I am with them than dancing alone. I feel uncomfortable and old when I go alone and take classes that are filled with 17-21 year olds. Alex was trying to explain Robo Cop and In Living Colour... they had no clue. He played the Beastie Boys during warm up and had to ask - do you even know this song?

I had a good class minus the uncomfortable old and the bloated feeling.

Monday 8-9 Hot Yoges - Verena

I went to this class because Moe's class was being taught by Amy Gardener - someone from SYTYCD - and I didn't want to pay extra or go to a super busy class. Sophie was going to this yoga class too so I thought I could see her- but this yoga class was super packed too! I didn't think that the 8pms were that busy- but I guess I was wrong.

Verena talked a lot about core alignment. Oh- we did a really ouchy first exercise that was squatting on half toes. Not a full half toe but a more flat one and it gets right into your shins. We held it for a minute. My toe cramped! It was a good stretch for my feet too. I might add this one into one of my next warm-ups.

We didn't have to do standing head to knee or dancers. We did a lot of hard stuff that was different and that is always - fun? Hard? Challenging?

Friday 6am Hot Yoges - Ashley

This is my second class with Ashley. She does things differently but I am getting more used to her. I enjoyed class today.

I had an awesome sleep last night after yoga and I woke up and walked to yoga in the rain - refreshed and ready to go. I am such a nerd.

I was pretty bendy for a morning class.

Ya.. that's all I gots to say.

Thursday 6-7:30 Hot Yoges - Christine

Today was a good size 6pm class. It was not as busy and hot as Tuesday and there was a some space on either side of me. I wish people would smile. Why is everyone so serious? About three people left before the end.

I had a great class. I didn't like the lights out during the second half of class... but whatever. Word association: She said to think of one word that gives you power and I thought: Jonny - no I don't want to gain it from someone - dance - positive - Shilpa - STAR!! hahaha.. gay!

I bent farther than I ever have in awkward. I also balanced in eagle on the left leg. My stomach is no longer feeling sick. I think Mexico is all out... I hope! My back was really bendy today. My right hamstring doesn't hurt and has more flexibility. It is in its bendy stage. I am going through good times with my body. FINALLY!

Tuesday 6-7:30 Hot Yoges - Leo

well, this is the first entry from my new iPad. Yay! Today's class was like hot sardines. I did everything while dripping and slipping.I was slippery from the moisturizer that I put on this morning at school when I realized my tan was scaling off.

Now it is the next morning and I am at school on my computer where I can type way easier. One thing I was thinking in yoga yesterday is that all of the postures are meant to go in order. So, if I am feeling sick or dizzy I should try to get back up and keep going or at least do them half assed to get the benefits from the order. Maybe one is meant to reverse the dizzy feeling. Not that that mattered for this class. I was awesome in this class even though it was packed and hot - it was just something I was thinking about.

However, here is one thing that did happen to me in the night: my right elbow bursa sack exploded. Or at least that is what it felt like. AND, how can that happen in nice soft quilts and pillows? Then I thought back to when it first happened to my knee in a hip hop class with a seam of my pants and the floor meeting the wrong way. Was I doing hot yoga back then? I am always bursting bursas it seems. Maybe it has something to do with dehydration. This is something I am going to keep my eye on and maybe do some research on. Eliora from my dance class - grade 12 has this problem too.

Saturday 2-3:30 Hot Yoges -LEO!

I thought I was going to have an awesome class because I didn't drink for New Years - I had Gatorade and sleep. I was ready for this hot yoges - or so I thought. It must have been a combo of: dehydration, cold, too much relaxation, too much sun, beer from the holiday??? But I was not used to being in yoga. I stayed positive but I had some tough spells to get through and I listened to my body. I had to sit during some of it and breathe because I was getting dizzy. It wasn't that bad but it wasn't the awesome class that I thought I would have. Oh well - back to the routine and I will everything will come back. You gotta start somewhere. I am happy that I went. It is a great way to start off 2011!! Happy New YEAR!!
